Topeka ER & Hospital Officially Opens
TOPEKA, Kansas — Topeka ER & Hospital, a physician-owned micro-hospital at 6135 SW 17th St., proudly opened its doors to patients on July 27, 2020. Topeka ER & Hospital offers top-tier, 24/7 comprehensive care for medical emergencies ranging from broken bones and injuries to serious illnesses, chronic conditions, and allergic reactions.
Jared Schreiner, M.D., chief medical officer and emergency medicine physician, says the goal of the hospital is to deliver quick, compassionate emergency care to the Topeka community. “We offer the same medical care as other emergency departments,” says Dr. Schreiner, “but we set ourselves apart by providing faster care and minimizing patients’ wait times.”
With 17,700 square feet of space, Topeka ER & Hospital’s welcoming and relaxing design features eight emergency beds, six inpatient beds, a pharmacy and a suite of state-of-the-art advanced imaging, radiology and laboratory equipment including MRI, X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound. Staffing the hospital are 11 board-certified emergency medicine physicians along with a pharmacist, nurses, laboratory and imaging technologists, and advanced EMTs. A team of experienced hospitalists will be providing inpatient care.
“Our on-site lab and testing will significantly reduce patient wait times for test results and allow for more one-on-one time between our physicians and their patients,” Dr. Schreiner says. “That expedited care along with minimal to non-existent wait times means we can provide a friendly, comfortable experience for patients during a stressful time in their lives.”
Dr. Schreiner says the hospital’s mission statement, “The care you need, the compassion you deserve,” says it all.
“We look forward to becoming a go-to emergency hospital for Topeka and surrounding communities by providing high quality, compassionate care,” he says.
